Aumama is a Karachi-based emerging artist who graduated from the University of Karachi with a Bachelor’s in Fine Arts. She works with both digital media and traditional mediums. She has an intense fascination with the sky and clouds, which began with her childhood experience of losing her twin sister. When she was five, whenever she would ask her mother about her sister, her mother lovingly responded, “She’s up in the sky, with Allah Tala.” From that point on, her habit of gazing at the sky and seeing the clouds became a way of communicating with her sister. This connection deepened after the loss of her grandfather, leading her to believe that both her sister and grandfather are in the sky. The sky and its ever-changing clouds symbolize continuity and connection for Aumama, reflecting her thoughts and emotions. Her work captures these feelings, creating a personal world where time stands still while the outside world rushes by.
